Pay Attention to Yourself

With so many stimuli it is easy to get distracted and forget to pay attention to what our bodies are telling us. Do not fall prey to this. Our bodies are the reason we have access to the world, to these stimuli. If they are neglected our interactions will be neglectful.

The worse shape your body is in the more you miss. We have all been there, sleep deprived, dehydrated, hungry, scared, sad. In those states our abilities are diminished. We miss queues. We miss logical conclusions. We react and interact with a limited capacity for the world around us.

It is not bad to push yourself, to see what your limits are, but do it intentionally. Be aware that you are limited. Despite the romanticization of self-sacrifice neglecting yourself for long periods of time means you end up neglecting everything around you.

There is a reason the safety information on airlines instructs you to put your mask on before assisting others. If you fail to get yours on in time you go from someone who can help to someone who needs help.
